Incredibly interesting and tragic three part series in the NY Times on Derek Boogaard, an ‘Enforcer’ in the NHL and the effects of sustained blows to the head throughout his short life and career. It’s really a great read and highlights the fairly shocking fact that despite all the evidence involving severe long term effects of concussions the NHL still regards fighting as an integral part of it’s for-profit product.
